I just love the fall. Everything about it: the changing leaves, the cooler temperatures, my mom’s pumpkin pie. Combine a beautiful fall day with a great worship experience at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Walhalla and it was a day destined for greatness. A wonderful woman laden with loaves of Banana bread greeted us at St. John’s. I don’t know about you, but to me that’s a pretty good sign. Pastor Honeycutt preached a great sermon, and then we got to head up to the bell tower. Getting to go climbing around a historical bell tower was a real treat.
We then had a fabulous meal at Walhalla Steak House, and headed out to Yellow Branch Falls to work off our fried chicken and pie. The hike was exactly what I needed. We caught the leaves at their brightest colors, and I just loved being surrounded by all the bright yellows and reds. The waterfall was a fun place to explore and rest. It was a great Sunday filled with worship and enjoying God’s creation. Callie Heyne |
