LSM-USA National Gathering - Dec 28-Jan 1, Memphis
This event will involve students from across the US. The theme is "A Place at the Table" and will explore race and race issues. Here is the promo flier - LSM-USA Gathering. Registration is now open - and limited to 110 persons - so sign up as soon as you can. LCM-C will pay your registration; we ask $50 for the transportation costs and such. The 2018 Homecoming Habitat House has had a bit of a weather delay. There are 20 volunteers for each hour-long shift, but those shifts will fill up quick. Here is the link, if you want to volunteer. 2018 Homecoming House. Remember that we will "guard" the house the evening and night of October 17.
VOTE - in the mid-term elections
There is no act as significant as voting. It is daunting, we worry about being uninformed and overwhelmed. But you need to start somewhere, and you need to start now. Patterns are set at this stage of life which remain through life. Ashlyn McEwen will help you navigate your way through registering to vote and becoming a bit more informed. ELCAVotes is the Church's website to help you.
LCM-C Spring Break Trip
We have solidified our spring break plans. The week will be spent in Jacksonville Beaches, FL, working with Habitat for Humanity. We leave on March 16, so we can worship that Sunday with LCM-C Alumni, Pastor Daniel Locke. On Tuesday, we will join Jacksonville Campus Ministry, for their weekly gathering. Costs will be about $100. Registration will start in January.
Call Process for Campus Pastor
We all owe a debt of gratitude to Madison Herin and Tom Birdsong who have agreed to serve on the Call Committee. Students will be eligible to vote, when a candidate is put forth. We need a record of your participation (thank you "Stalker file") and you need to make a contribution of record. Envelopes will be available on Wednesday nights, or you can Venmo or write a check.
