One major decision that the group had to make was whether or not to change to term period for the leadership team members. Collectively, we came to the conclusion that it would be more conducive for LCM as a whole if we changed the terms to follow the calendar year rather than the school calendar. This means that the leadership team that we just chose will only serve in the fall and then a new leadership team will be selected to begin in January. This will help leadership teams be more prepared for the August events right when school starts, rather than throwing all the back to school events at the new leaders.
In between discussions, the group was led by Elliot Cox, through the Group Interaction Course at Camp Kinard. During each challenge, it was all giggles and fun, but it was an important part of the weekend. Going through the GIC together was essential to our skills working together, it helped each of us realize our strengths and weaknesses, and taught us different ways to support each other. To top the weekend off, we got to have a delicious meal at Shealy’s BBQ.
